Former Chinese SM-trainees talk about EXO Kris’s leaving
Two former Chinese SM-trainees have posted on their Weibo accounts discussing EXO Kris’s decision to leave SM Entertainment.
The first trainee, Liu Chao, wrote,
Even though I don’t know the exact reason you’re choosing to leave too, I believe you have bitter words you can’t utter and I understand how you feel. You persisted for so long and you’ve worked hard! Our futures are filled with the unknown, but it is also filled with more choices. I believe things will be better~ I also hope that overseas entertainment companies will be more protective of trainees like us who left our homes and families behind. Kids who shed sweat and gave away our youth… Jiayou Yifan! We are all here.
Another SM trainee, Song Bingyang, who is known for his duet with Zhang Liyin on her debut album, then reposted Liu Chao’s post and added this comment,
K, jiayou! Everyone has seen the hardwork you’ve put in all this while! We support you! I believe the future will be better!
Song Bingyang was an SM trainee up until 2011, and Liu Chao was an SM trainee up until 2013.
Both have moved on with their careers. Liu Chao is currently an actor, and Song Bingyang is currently attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
There are so many sides to Kris’s story that we don’t know about. It makes us wonder how exactly Chinese members of SM Entertainment are being treated… and if they are mistreated, why aren’t Luhan, Tao, Lay, Henry, Victoria, Amber, Zhang Liyin, Zhou Mi, and other Chinese SM labelmates following Kris’s lead?
