Twitch is expanding beyond just live game streams, and we love it.
Today, the company announced that it will be launching a 24/7 live sports channel called “Stadium”.
Stadium was already a stand-alone service, but it has now partnered up with Twitch.
The partnership cost Twitch around $50-to-$65 million.
With this partnership, Twitch viewers (whether they’re subscribed to Amazon Prime or not) will be able to view live sports, highlights, and on-demand content 24/7 a day.
There will be a variety of sports featured on the channel, including:
- Competitive Frisbee
There will be over 250 live games and events featured on that channel for the rest of 2018.
While regular sports may not be an interest to a majority of Twitch viewers, it’s a nice addition to Twitch’s catalogue of content.
We’ll be sure to tune in to that channel every now and then.
